2016 Is Here – Time to Make Your New Year’s Resolutions?

AAM Fear Change

It is hard to believe that 2016 is here already! This is the time of year when we think about the year ahead and make our New Year’s Resolutions – but what about our finances?

Will you resolve to work within a budget, review those savings and investments, start saving for that long cherished goal or take out protection for you and/or your family? Don’t forget when looking forward to look back at what you have achieved until now.

Resolution 1

Take stock of your plans and resolve to get back on track.
Ask yourself:

  • Where am I now?
  • Where do I want to be in the future?
  • Are my plans on track to get me there?
Resolution 2

Check that your financial plans are working the way you think they are.

When it comes to our finances, it is easy to assume that the plans we have made are still working the way we intended, but financial plans need to be reviewed and cared for. Your goals change, laws and taxes change and so plans need to change to cope.

Resolution 3

Make sure you know where your money is and what it is doing.

It can be easy to lose track of the pensions you have. Changing jobs, moving home, becoming an expat… or maybe you just didn’t notice the letters stopped landing on your door mat. Whilst there might be many reasons why you have lost track of your pension, what’s important is that you recover and manage it.

Many people feel that tracking down their lost pensions is too complicated, but at AAM Wealth Solutions we can arrange for you to have a free review with a pension specialist. This makes the whole experience stress free as they take care of the hard work so that you don’t have to. They can even review the performance of your pension, when it has been located, to make sure you have the retirement you are aiming for.

There are millions of people with over £5 billion in lost or unclaimed pensions, maybe you’re one of them?

Resolution 4

Make sure you and your family are protected.

  • If you suffered a major illness, or worse were to die, are you and your family adequately protected financially?
  • Do you know exactly what you are covered for through work?
  • What about your own policies?

Many of us have insurance policies taken out whilst living in our home country which no longer cover us now that we live abroad. Have you reviewed your policies, be they within your Super or a stand alone policy, to make sure you are still covered?

So this January take a moment to think:
  • Are you on track to meet your goals?
  • Are your financial plans working the way you think they are?
  • Do you know where your money is and what it is doing?
  • Are you and your family properly protected?

It’s simple to find out, just contact your AAM Advisory Financial Planner or email wealthsolutions@aam-advisory.com.

This service is entirely free and without obligation, you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain, so act now!
