Job titleRisk & Compliance Executive
Function and Reporting toDepartment: Risk & Compliance

Reporting to: Head of Risk & Compliance

Job PurposeThis role will provide support and assistance to the Head of Risk and Compliance in the maintenance and monitoring of the compliance and quality systems in line with relevant MAS regulatory rules and requirements.  It will also focus on post transaction reviews as part of the department’s responsibility as the independent sales audit unit.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis role will incorporate some or all of the responsibilities outlined below:

Independent Sales Audit

  • Providing support to the Head of Compliance for execution of the AAM Risk and Compliance plan, in particular the continuous post-transaction review of advice as the independent sales audit unit in accordance to the MAS’ methodology.
  • Progressing the concerns identified as part of the post transaction reviews, client surveys and complaints; recommend the conclusion of concerns as infractions according to criteria provided by the MAS
  • Supporting the follow-up of infractions on remuneration impact, and communication of balance scorecard grade to the advisers.
  • Coordinating the appeal processes where triggered.
  • Supporting the reporting on the quality of financial advice base on, but not limited to, the post transaction reviews to the CEO and Board.
  • Monitoring the rectification by individual advisers arising from concerns identified from the continuous reviews, client surveys or complaints.

Representatives record

  • Reviewing the completion of continuous professional development requirements of financial adviser representatives (FAR), fit and proper attestations.
  • Ensuring FAR register and introducer register are timely maintained
  • Ensuring timely regulatory notification on changes to FAR profiles.

Financial Crime

  • Analysing and supporting in financial crime related monitoring.
  • Analysing and supporting in enterprise wide risk assessment on financial crime.


  • Any other ad-hoc duties as delegated by the Head of Risk & Compliance.

Education & Experience
  • Minimum A-Level qualifications/Higher Education University or Polytechnic.
  • Governance, Risk, Compliance or Audit certifications will be considered positively
  • 1 -2 years of Compliance experience in Financial Services is preferred although not mandatory

Job titleFinancial Planner
Function and Reporting toDepartment: Sales Team

Reporting to: Director/Mentor

Job PurposeFinancial planners work with individuals, families and businesses to help clients understand their financial circumstances and how to reach their short-term and long-term financial objectives. The clients provide relevant financial information during an initial interview, answering questions about their total annual income, debt obligations, monthly expenses not related to debt, current investment holdings, savings account balances, tax liabilities and insurance plans. Financial planners analyze this information and present realistic, meaningful recommendations based on their clients’ financial situations and goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Acquire, develop and maintain a portfolio of clients while adopting a needs-based sales process to identify a client’s financial needs and priorities.
  • Analyse client’s financial status by interviewing them to determine client’s assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status and financial objectives and develops financial plan based on analysis of data, and discuss financial options with client.
  • Develop and implement financial plans for individuals, utilizing knowledge of investment strategies, insurance and retirement planning.
  • Prepare and submit documents to implement plan selected by client.
  • Maintain contact with client to revise plan based on modified needs of clients or changes in investment market.
  • Stay current with market trends and evolving regulatory landscape by attending training courses internally/externally and fulfil the prescribed CPD hours.
  • Maintain high commitment to compliance with internal company policies and MAS requirements.

Job title Graduate Trainee Advisers
Function and Reporting toDepartment: Sales Team
Reporting to: Director/Mentor
Job PurposeAs a member of the AAM Academy, you will be expected to take and pass 6 regulatory exams in the first year with the assistance of office based training sessions and home study. You will also be mentored by one of AAM’s Directors or Senior Financial Planners. During the first year, you will attend weekly training sessions on all aspects of financial planning. This will include product, sales, sales administration, financial markets and systems training. A confident manner both face to face and via telephone is essential as you will be contacting potential and current clients to arrange meetings. You will also be assisting to source and arrange networking events and seminars, as well as building your own business network both face-to-face and online.
Key Responsibilities
  • This is a sales focused role so the successful candidate must be target driven, motivated and a self starter.
  • Contacting clients and setting up meetings;
  • Conducting in-depth reviews of clients’ financial circumstances, current provision and future aims;
  • Sourcing and arranging events and seminars
  • Network through events and establish relationships with perspective clients

Once graduated to Financial Advisor:

  • Assisting clients to make informed decisions;
  • Designing financial strategies
  • Develop appropriate technical and market awareness knowledge;
  • Reviewing and responding to clients changing needs and financial circumstances;
  • Promoting and selling financial products to meet given or negotiated sales targets;
  • Keeping up to date with financial products and legislation;
  • Producing financial reports;
  • Contacting clients with news of new financial products or changes to legislation that may affect their savings and investments;
  • Meeting the regulatory aspects of the role, e.g. requirements for disclosure, costs of the services provided and also the advised products

About the roleAs a Business Development Executive, you’ll work alongside an experienced financial planner responsible for warm lead follow up and leads generation. You’ll also help us deliver our business development sales targets by communicating with people via email, LinkedIn, the phone and, occasionally, face-to-face, with a view to scheduling a meeting with one of our team. And, when it comes to effective workflow/database management and keeping accurate records, again, we’ll count on you to deliver. Generating leads, cold calling customers, keeping abreast of trends in the market and seeking ways of improving how we do things – you’ll get to do all of this, and more.
About youIt really is a great opportunity to learn aspects of AAM’s financial planning proposition and develop the necessary technical and market awareness knowledge to assist our financial planners. As well as the ability to provide quality customer service, you’ll need a strong eye for detail and be comfortable working under pressure, as well as to targets and deadlines.
